Wayfinder support
Help with downloads, accounts, purchases and saved data.
Wayfinder is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. A verified account is required to use Wayfinder. Account verification and password recovery emails and the public support mailbox are available. You can choose whether to share completions with a group and use the in-app account-deletion control. Community recommendations stay private until reviewed, which may take time; reporting and blocking are available. The web review build cannot sell packs; iOS purchases are handled in the native app.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I download Wayfinder?
Download Wayfinder for iPhone and iPad from the App Store. The Wayfinder overview also has the download link.
An Android release is planned, but Wayfinder is not published on Google Play yet. We will add an Android download link only after its listing is live.
What if my verification or recovery email does not arrive?
Account emails arrive as Wayfinder from no-reply@auth.rlapplications.com. Check that you entered the correct email address and look in your spam or junk folder. If you need another verification email, use Resend verification email in the app. For an expired or already-used link, request a fresh verification or recovery email and use the newest link.
Do not erase browser storage to work around an account prompt: it may contain unsynced progress and device-local photos. Never send a password or verification link to the no-reply address; it is an automated sender and is not monitored for support. For further help, email help.rlapplications@gmail.com.
Can I use Wayfinder offline?
Previously loaded parts of the app can work offline. Progress and other queued account changes must reconnect before they can sync. New photos remain on the device and do not join that sync. Keep another copy of important photos or trip notes.
How does group sharing work?
Your progress belongs to your account. When you create or join a group using its six-character code, one choice asks whether to share your completed-adventure ticks, dates, ratings and written memories together with current and future members. You may instead join privately and still see what other members choose to share. Each person chooses for each group. New personal completions share after a yes answer. Some older entries need their owner to open the adventure in My progress and tap Confirm for group sharing before their name, date, rating or note appears. Photos, purchases and shortlist stay personal; a trip has its own separate share action. If you leave while others remain, your already-shared name, ticks, dates, ratings and notes stay in the group as a fixed record, labelled as a former member. Your personal history stays with your account. You can erase the group record later through Me → Shared history in groups you left → Remove my shared group history. Deleting your account or the group also erases it. If you are the last member, leaving deletes the group.
Can my group see my ratings and written memories?
Yes, if you chose to share when creating or joining that group. Eligible personal ratings and written memories for completed adventures appear with your name and tick; all consenting members' entries for the same adventure appear together. If nobody shares a written note, the card says No memory written yet. Older uncertain entries remain unnamed and private until their owner confirms the personal completion; matching note text is not proof of ownership. Notes originally saved only in an older group list stay private unless their author copies them into a personal entry. Unfinished adventures and device-local photos stay private. Once you leave, later personal edits do not change what was already shared in the group. Other people may keep copies of information they already saw.
Can I change when I completed an adventure?
Yes. Open an adventure you have ticked and use Date completed to save the correct day, from 1 January 1900 through 31 December 2100. You can correct an earlier tick even if that listing is now paused. The date syncs with your account; group members see the correction only when you have chosen to share completion ticks and the entry is eligible for group sharing.
How do I share a trip with my group?
Trips stay personal until their owner opens a trip and selects Add to group for the active group. Confirm that choice while online. Members can view the shared trip's name, dates, itinerary and notes; connected devices refresh when its owner makes changes. Only the owner can edit or delete it. Choose Remove from group in the trip to revoke the group's access, or leave the group. Removal cannot erase a copy another member already saved.
Sharing a trip does not change the group's completed-adventure sharing choice or share photos or purchases. Each member's own pack controls whether protected gem place details are visible.
Will my progress work on another device?
Use the same verified account on each device. Signed-in personal progress syncs when the device reconnects; first confirm that changes have synced on the original device. New photos do not sync automatically. To move their real image bytes, open Me → Settings → Export photos from this device, save every numbered .wfpbackup file and transfer it yourself. Choose Import a photo backup while signed in to the same account on the other device. Keep the backup password because Wayfinder cannot recover an encrypted file if you forget it.
Where are my new photos kept?
When you add photos, Wayfinder stores resized in-app copies in the app or browser on that device. The native app uses private app files; attaching a photo does not automatically copy the Wayfinder version to the Photos library. The PWA uses that browser's IndexedDB storage. Current clients cannot upload new image files or photo records to the RL Applications backend, and the former cloud photo store is empty. Wayfinder's in-app photo copies do not automatically sync to another Wayfinder installation. Signing out preserves them for the same account, but uninstalling the app or clearing app or browser/site storage can permanently remove them. Under Me → Settings, manual export and import use password-encrypted, numbered .wfpbackup files for that same account. Save every part; RL Applications cannot recover a forgotten backup password. Wayfinder does not upload or automatically transfer these files. Files, AirDrop, email or a cloud provider may hold a separate copy if you choose that route. Native releases exclude Wayfinder's persistent app data from Android and iOS device or cloud backups. A PWA cannot control copies retained by browser, operating-system or user-configured device backups. RL Applications retains a separate Desktop backup of 15 historical originals and related migration snapshots; it is not available through Wayfinder and is retained for migration and rollback evidence pending a final retention decision.
How do I save my Wayfinder photos to the iPhone Photos app?
In a supported iPhone or iPad version, open Me → Settings → Save photos to camera roll. Wayfinder shows how many photos are stored locally for your signed-in account. Confirm to copy them to that device's Photos library, and allow add-only Photos access if asked. The in-app copies remain. This saves only photos already on that device; group members cannot download them from your group. This is separate from the encrypted photo backup and does not import photos into Wayfinder on another device. You can view, share or remove the new copies in Photos. They remain visible in Photos if you switch Wayfinder accounts; saving again creates another set of copies. Your iCloud Photos settings may sync them to iCloud and other devices. RL Applications does not receive the exported images. Deleting your Wayfinder account or app does not remove the Photos copies. The web app and Android build cannot use this control to save to Photos.
Can I buy Wayfinder packs?
The iPhone and iPad app offers optional one-time packs through Apple's in-app purchase flow. The Australian base prices are AUD $14.99 once for all continents, including Antarctica, or AUD $2.99 for each of the seven standalone geography packs; Apple shows the current price in your storefront before you buy. Antarctica is only in the all-continents bundle. Apple and RevenueCat handle purchases and restores for the individual Wayfinder account; joining a group does not give its members your paid packs. The web review build cannot sell packs, and Android purchases are not available yet.
Does Wayfinder book travel or confirm an activity is open?
No. Wayfinder is a discovery and planning guide. Availability, access, prices, seasons, border rules and safety conditions can change. Confirm important details with official authorities, venues and operators before relying on them.
How do I report incorrect content or a safety concern?
Email help.rlapplications@gmail.com with the adventure name, what appears wrong and a current official source if you have one. Do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.
How are Community suggestions reviewed?
New posts and edits stay private until reviewed. When the optional AI-assisted route is enabled, you must check a fresh, initially unchecked consent box for each submission or edit before its public display name, text and source link can be emailed through Resend to RL Applications' Gmail review mailbox and processed by a connected OpenAI Codex/ChatGPT agent. The agent may approve a low-risk suggestion or reject clear abuse after checking the current post. Uncertain or reported suggestions stay private for operator review. Your account sign-in email and Memories photos do not enter the review task email. A rejection stays private with a reason visible only to you under Community → Mine; request another review at help.rlapplications@gmail.com. Review can take time and does not guarantee that a venue or activity is open.
How do I delete my account?
See the account-deletion instructions. The in-app control deletes the account, owned hosted Wayfinder records and retained shared history in groups, and removes new device-local photos on the device where you use it. Creating another account with the same email does not recover the deleted account or its progress. Apple retains its transaction history; eligible purchases can be restored separately. Contact support if paid access is not restored. The control cannot erase independent copies on other devices, exported photo backup files, copies you chose to save in Photos or provider records immediately. The deletion page also gives an email-request route if you cannot use the in-app control.
Viator experience links
Some adventures offer a reviewed link to a matching Viator experience beneath Maps and Add to shortlist. Check the provider's itinerary, departure point, booking options, access requirements and current availability. A paid guided visit may be optional for a place you can visit independently. Unmatched adventures have no booking button.
RL Applications may earn a commission on eligible bookings. Tours and tickets are separate purchases from Wayfinder gem collections. Viator or the experience provider handles booking changes, payments, cancellations and refunds; Wayfinder does not guarantee availability or receive your payment-card details.
Contact
Email help.rlapplications@gmail.com. Include the problem, the device and browser or app version, and any error text that is safe to share. Do not send passwords, verification links, payment details or unnecessary identity documents. The automated no-reply sender cannot receive support messages.
Wayfinder's bundled software and map-data copyright and permission texts are in the third-party notices.
Finding your way around
A quick tour is offered after your first sign-in on this installation; replay it from Me → Show me around. After joining a group, the Me / Group button beside the dice switches between personal and shared group progress. Use the full-width Search all adventures button on the world screen to search worldwide. Back moves up one level, returning from a state to its country.
